Ceonte Young Obituary

THE JOURNEY OF CEONTE “WOODY” YOUNG

Ceonte was born on August 28, 2004 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to James Andre Young and the late Mikita Johnson. Ceonte was placed in the care of his adopted mother, Linda Lighty, soon after his birth on October 20, 2004. Ceonte was called home on October 26, 2022.

Ceonte grew up in the Garfield Heights community and was affectionately known by “Woody”, (a name from early in his childhood, given by his mother Linda Lighty). Ceonte was a youth whose smile lit up the entire universe. EVERYONE LOVED CEONTE.

Ceonte had unique talents and plenty that were yet to be revealed. Ceonte attended Family Links for his early education, Sterrett Middle School and University Prep. Ceonte was enrolled in Phase 4 to retrieve his high school diploma/GED. Ceonte was also a member of the Valley View Presbyterian Church, where he served with Pastor Chad Collins and other members. Ceonte has an enormous sense of humor, a big smile and a big heart.

Ceonte leaves behind his loving mother, Linda Lighty, father, James Andre Young, grandmother, Shirlene Johnson, sister, Dalaiza Henry, brothers, Dewayne Young, David Young and Donald Young, aunts, Katie Bottoms, Marilyn Young and Chyna Johnson, niece, Ny’Lai Henry, nephew, Dior Young, cousins, Sir Young, Mar’Quan Johnson, Mar’Shawn Johnson and Mar’Ke Brown, and a host of other family members and friends. Ceonte is preceded in death by his loving mother, Mikita Johnson, grandma, Mary Ruby Young, aunt Jessica Young, cousins, Rocky Bottoms Jr. and Timothy Bottoms.

A son, grandson, brother, nephew, cousin, uncle, neighbor and friend, Ceonte will be deeply missed by all of his loved ones. Ceonte will be remembered for his jolliness, unique giggle, an enormous sense of humor, large smile and huge heart.

Thank you, family and friends for your support.
