David Green Jr., 55, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, peacefully transitioned to eternal rest at Spring Hill Rehab and Nursing Center on Wednesday, August 27, 2024. David was preceded in death by his father, David Green, Sr; mother, Ruth Grant Green and the late Laura (Mena) Green who was a very special cousin.
David was affectionately known as Dave, was born on December 5, 1968, and grew up in the Pittsburgh area of Hazelwood neighborhood, where he met friends that would stay in his life until God called him home. Dave was a kind and loving person, who enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends. Dave had a passion for cars, motorcycles and working hard.
After graduating from Serra Catholic High School in McKeesport, Pennsylvania in 1986, David later went on to pursue his bachelor's degree from Strayer University, which led him to become a teacher assistant in the Woodland Hills District in 2018. With an exuberance for sports, he played in basketball, bowling and local softball leagues. In his spare time, you could always find Dave eating his favorite wings while playing a game of Steelers Madden football.
David Green Jr., is survived by his wife Kimberly Green, three sons, Christopher, David III and Caleb Green, daughter, Shadai Green; sister, Gwendolyn (Michael) Green-Duckett, grandchildren, Kehlani, Kiori, Karter and Princeton, devoted and childhood friend, Tony Jackson of Pennsylvania, special cousin, Felicia Grant of South Carolina, devoted caretaker at the nursing home, Nurse Jackie Hatcher, uncles, Alphonso (Josephine) and Ernest (Loretta) Grant of John’s Island, aunt, Florence (Rev. Gerald) Gaillard of Summerville SC; and a host of cousins and friends. Dave will be sadly missed by all.
