DeJa Shalon Jefferson, 31, of Greensboro, North Carolina, passed peacefully in her sleep, Saturday, April 29, 2023, at her home. DeJa, was the daughter of David Jefferson Sr. and Lisa Ptomey. DeJa, was an active mother in her children’s life and loved them with every core of her being. She was an active person and loved being around all of her family and friends, wherever she may have been. She was respected by all who knew her. She graduated from Gateway High School in 2010, went onto attend Empire Beauty School then decided to become employed at a daycare center to help care for her daughter, Jai’Lynn. DeJa decided to relocate to North Carolina in her early 20’s and was employed at a group home to assist troubled teens, to encourage them to be all they can be.

She was a “Queen”

She is survived by both her parents, David Jefferson Sr. (North Carolina) and Lisa Ptomey (Pennsylvania), her babies, JaíLynn SáKya Archie, Jamar Archie and JaéShawn Scott-Archie, grandma, Reverend Anne Jefferson, brothers, DeMetré and David Jefferson Jr., fiancé’, Jimmy Jeffery, father of her babies, Jamar Archie Sr., godparents, Denise Barron and Minister Deryck Tines, dear friends, Myesha, Margaret, Ina and beloved Brandi, many, many, many family and friends who loved her dearly. She is preceded in death by her grandma, Yolanda Ptomey and nephew, Ryan Elyes Shaw.
