Dennis Franklin King Sr., 46, was born on November 6, 1978, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, tragically lost his life Saturday, November 9, 2024. Dennis affectionately known as “Mence” was the son of Willa “Sissy” Dolores King and Dennis Franklin Ross, while loved and raised by the late Irene and Pastor Morris Davis.
Dennis was raised in Charties City. He was baptized at an early age at Coraopolis Church of God. Mence attended Langley High School from which he obtained his GED later in life. Dennis received his barber license at the Barber School of Pittsburgh in 2023. He worked numerous positions in the Metal Fabrication Industry. Family and friends would say he was the light of the party. He had a funny personality and A HEART OF GOLD! Mence was a Jack-of-all-trade, into a little bit of everything, such as cooking, making music and he even made swords and knives in his downtime. But the biggest dream Dennis had was owning his own Barber Shop Business.
His favorite line was “Wat up Mane”, “fa’sho” and famous name-calling was “Nephewwww…” and Dennis no one can say them like you!
Dennis Franklin King Sr., leaves to mourn in his passing, his mother Sissy King, father, Dennis (Gert) Ross, children, Travon Hill, Dashaun King, Dennis King Jr. and Nahtalia King, siblings, Shannon Ross, Maria Ross, Mitchell McBride, Michael J. Davis, John Hall, Krishaun (Tammy) Davis, Montay King and Michael Lee Davis, grandson, Tyjear Hill, aunt, Helen King, uncles, Marshall Ross, Huey “Bebo” King and Eddy King Jr., numerous nieces, nephews and a host of cousins family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Orr King, Evelyn Ross, Huey Townsend, Marshall (Erna) Ross, adopted parents, Irene and Pastor Morris Davis, aunts, Virginia Ross, Dedreayl King, uncles, Eddie King Sr., and Hewatha “Buddy” Star.
