Our Dearest Ervin Bernard Solomon, born April 11, 1962, son of the late Ann Walker (Solomon) and late Jesse Solomon Jr. Ervin was the eldest of three children. Deborah Hall (Dunlap) and the late Gary Dale Solomon. Ervin was a natural leader and was not afraid to remind you that he was in charge! He was a protector. He moved to his own tune. Ervin was a man of simplicity and confidence. He in fact was exactly who he thought he was!
Ervin had many journeys in his life. In the late eighties, Ervin was a supervisor at Vision Quest. There he had the pleasure of guiding youth to a better path and meeting his special friend Beatrice Bush. Ervin also loved to cook and was an amazing chef! He even had the privilege of even creating masterpieces for the Cleveland Cavaliers. In his later years, he enjoyed serving as a hospital security and Ervin was a joy to encounter. He loved his sweets too! He would make a lemon pound cake, from scratch, which would put Duncan Hines to shame!
Ervin was a father, a grandfather, a brother, an uncle, a loving & faithful son, along with being a dear friend to many. The role he honored the most was being a FATHER. Ervin loved his children and reminded them of that every chance he got. Ervin had three children. Bianca Kylie Solomon his “Me-Me,” Princeton Bernard Solomon “Bink” (Dashawntae Cushenberry), and Cameron Alexander Solomon “Cam” (Imari). He will forever remain in the hearts of his grandsons, “The Solomon Brothers,” Princeton Jr, Dallas, and Memphis. His nephews DeAngelo Lamar Hall (Pamela) and Dunlap LeAndrew Hall also his great-nephew Jaylen Lamar Hall. Many more loved Ervin, those blended and extended.
Ervin Bernard Solomon passed away on May 1, 2026, with his children by his side. Ervin was a fighter! He fought long and he fought hard! Now, the fight is over! Although we may miss him here on earth, remember the moments shared. He is at peace.
“I have fought a good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the LORD, the righteous judge, will award to me on the day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing.”
2 Timothy 4:7-8
