Harvey Alan Broadus, age 67, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania departed this life on Monday, September 2, 2024, at the VA Medical Center, in Aspinwall, Pennsylvania. He was born on June 25, 1957, to the late Leroy Otis Broadus Sr. and late Audrey (Hall) Broadus of South Park, Pennsylvania. In addition to his parents, Harvey Alan is preceded in death by his siblings: sister Geraldine (Gerry Ann) Williams, brothers: Leroy Otis Jr., Glenn Dwayne, Victor Eugene and Michael Broadus. During his youth, Alan, as he was fondly called, attended and was baptized at Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Library, by Reverend Chester H. Byars. He attended South Park High School and played softball with the Horning Hornets. He had a passion for sports. Harvey Alan joined the United States Marine Corps in June1974. He got a chance to travel to Michigan and California before settling back in Pennsylvania. His body finally succumbed to health issues….diabetes and pancreatic cancer. He lost a leg and three toes on the other foot, but that didn’t stop Alan. He loved going to Pittsburgh Steeler football games and Pittsburgh Pirate baseball games, despite the wheelchair!
He leaves to cherish his memory three siblings, Robert Lindsay (Frances) Broadus of Pittsburgh, Pa., sisters, Toni Broadus McKeithen of McKeesport, Pa. and Gina Marie (John) Webb of Warren, Oh., and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
