Helena Marie “Peanut” Mitchell Moumouni

Helena Marie Mitchell Moumouni, 56, born December 22, 1965, to the late Marie Faith Arnold and Carter. Helena was affectionately known by “Peanut”. Helena attended Pittsburgh Public School, Frick, then went to attend Job Corps in Baltimore, Maryland. Peanut, moved to North Carolina in 2002 to be near her sister, Tiffany who attended college in that area. She started a cleaning business while in North Carolina for a short time. She later married Oumarou Abdou Moumouni and divorced later after. Helena moved back to Pittsburgh in 2009, she enjoyed helping everyone in her entire community. She joined Lighthouse Cathedral where she served with Apostle and First Lady Trent for (5) five years. During that time, Helena along with her son, David was baptized. She enjoyed family gatherings, fishing, cooking, going to parks and we CAN NOT forget the yelling. She was everyone’s favorite and will be dearly missed by all.

On Monday, December 12, 2022, our dearly beloved gained her wings and departed our world to ascend to be with her Father God.

Her legacy will forever be remembered through the lives of her children, Lamont Mitchell and David Moumouni, granddaughter, Pajai L. M. Mitchell, sister, Tiffany (Jerome) Morant, aunt, Lena Davenport, uncle, William Davenport, nephews, Mario Fulton, Lamont Fulton and Jerome Morant III, nieces, Shyae Morant and Jael Morant, her caretaker and loving cousin, Tamara Craig, along with a host of cousins, great nephews, great niece, relatives and friends who received her love, support, and will cherish it in their lives forever. She was preceded in death by her both parents, sister, Edith Fulton and aunt, Marlene Brown. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Strong Funeral Home and Cremation Services, LLC. Family and friends are welcome to attend visitation at Lighthouse Cathedral, Monday, December 19, 2022, Noon to 2:00 PM. followed by service.
