Joel Lee Plummer, the sixth child of the late David A. Plummer Sr. and Joanne Plummer, was born on April 3, 1978, in the Northside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. On September 28, 2025, Joel tragically passed away in a motorcycle accident in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He departed this life suddenly and entered the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
At a young age, Joel was affectionately nicknamed “Weezer” by his mother, Joanne. As a baby, he was long and thin, and the name stuck—becoming how he was commonly known among family. During his early years in Garfield, Joel attended Fort Pitt Elementary School, went on to Washington Polytechnic Middle School, later transferred to Arsenal Middle School, and eventually completed his education at Duquesne High School. In 1996, at the age of 18, Joel moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where he lived for the next 30 years. He had a deep love for construction work and developed a specialized trade in stucco, working for several well known companies in the industry. Joel’s talents extended far beyond stucco—he had a natural gift for building and fixing just about anything. From constructing homes and office buildings to adding custom additions on mansions in California, Joel’s craftsmanship left a lasting mark. His creativity had no bounds—he repaired homes and cars, built motorcycles from scratch, crafted a working water raft, and even designed and built a custom stereo boom box for his vehicle. Joel also expressed himself through art, creating murals on walls and sculpting unique art pieces from mud. This passion eventually led him to open his own ceramic business. If Joel could get his hands on it, he could build it, fix it, or transform it into something extraordinary. Joel later on in 1996 became a self-trained barber. Joel was known for his out-of-the-box hair designs-free styling all of his designs Joel’s cliental grew so large that he had to obtain a suite in the Lauderhill mall. In 2013, Joel embarked on a new business venture and founded a repair company called IFixx in Miami, Florida. Specializing in the repair of computers, iPhones, Androids, and tablets, Joel quickly built a reputation for both speed and precision. He became known as the fastest repair technician in Miami, famously fixing phones in as little as seven minutes. His work earned such trust from his clients that many began requesting in-home services, ultimately transforming IFixx into a successful mobile repair business. Joel, and Jerrica later opened their second IFixx store with the assistance of his brother Josiah Plummer.
Joel had a heart to give back to his community through volunteerism. Miramar Police department of Inverrary condominiums, Joy’s Roti Shop with free repairs. Recently, a business called Broward Local in Venus, FL helped in repairing roofs. Repairing homes for the elderly and sick. He was affectionately known as “Joel”, “Uncle Joel”, “Weezer”, “Mr. Plummer” and “Dad” by his stepson Josiah.
Joel loved to cook. His first dish was made at the age of 13. Joel stayed in the kitchen with his mother Joanne, intrigued and ready to learn. Joel soon after became the family cook, coming up with new and extravagant recipes. Joel always had an idea for new things, he never repeated the same meal, it was different and good if Joel was cooking it. Joel loved to eat healthy organic foods and only he tried his best to transition others to GMO. Joel had a sense of humor always telling funny jokes, dressing up in funny clothes, and telling his version of fairy tales’ story. Joel and James (twin) would dress up like their parents and perform an hour-long skit of nothing but David and Joanne comedy. Joel played Mommy and James played Daddy. Joel was big on education, learning, downloading information on anything, software downloads etc. Joel loved making music with his brother Josiah and girlfriend Jerrica. Poem
Tap’ Tap’ Tap’
Every beat of my heart and every breathe I take, is giving with love for Jesus’ sake. I don’t take for granted his heavenly ways, because for my life and yours, he dearly paid. He was nailed to a cross out of envy and hate, but he rose to glory within three days. His word he’s plain for the world to obey, saying, “prepare yourself for that last great day”. For your rejection of God and Jesus his son, brought your sorrow and suffering and still you’ve not won. So, listen to me people and listen well, for what I have to say must be clearly understood period.
There is a real savior and Jesus is his name, for God his father and he has made his fame. God holds all power both now and time past, from him and his son Jesus, you’ve not heard the last.
Now one day he will knock at the door of your life, tell him he is welcomed, for he is your Lord Jesus Christ.
