Lena Davenport, 61, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania passed away on October 2, 2025, unfortunately from complications of a gunshot injury that occurred by the police in 2013. Lena was the daughter of the late Helen Davenport and the late William Davenport.
Lena grew up in the Hill District and attended Pittsburgh Public Schools. She served her country by being listed in the United States Army. She loved her family and friends as well as attending church and listening to music. Lena loved going to family functions and caring for her loved ones. She became a peer support after completing her own personal recovery. She really enjoyed caring for others in need.
Many times, in her life she would forget memories in her life, but her family would stand with her in support, because many times she would battle depression from the medical condition. Her family and friends are heartbroken and will forever miss Lena Davenport.
Loving words from her niece, Tiffany Morant
An aunt that became another big sister. She was popular from the Hill to McKeesport and in between. She had a contagious smile that would light a room. Her laugh made you laugh. If that didn’t do it then it was the things that came out of her mouth. She was the cool aunt that had you back while she was talking stuff or cussing you out. Either way you still felt her love. The best part of her was her being herself at all times. She was famous for her fried chicken (listen baby, that chicken was special), if you didn’t get any then you missed out. Our late night conversations and our weekly check-ins will forever be missed. Before we end our call you would say “I’m coming to visit as long as you don’t eat that diet stuff”. You would say you don’t eat beef or pork, but yeah right. I would laugh and say I got you. LOVE YOU MORE! You were the aunt that became another big sister to me. I am grateful that you were my aunt/sister and I will miss you dearly. Love your Woofims
Lena leaves to mourn her loving spirit, her children, Donald, Michael-James, Shaquille, Terrance and Mykiea, siblings, Marlene Brown, Marie (Faye) Mitchell-Arnold and William Davenport, Goddaughter, Tamara Craig. Lena is preceded in death by both her parents, Helen and William Davenport.
