Neenettia Edmonds Obituary

Neenettia Marie Edmonds, 68, was born on November 24, 1955, to the late William H. Edmonds and late Anna Brooks Edmonds. She departed this world on Tuesday August 27, 2024, after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Neenettia was affectionately known as Nene by her family and friends. She was educated in the Pittsburgh Public School System, then later went on to attend Community College to obtain her associate’s degree. She then moved to the New Jersey area to work, because Nene was no stranger to moving.

While in New Jersey she gave birth to a bouncing baby boy on January 1, 1978, that she named Christopher J. Edmonds. She then moved back to Pittsburgh where she worked for the Westin William Penn Hotel chain and later transferred to Westin Peachtree Hotel in Georgia. After eight years Nene moved back to Pittsburgh and was soon employed by the Pittsburgh Y.M.C.A. Food Bank and helped serve many people.

Nene accepted Christ in her life at the NTMBC, where she attended for many years as a choir member and President of the Missionary. She most recently dated and was engaged to one of the clergy at NTM, named Reverend Charles Jones. They were to wed on September 28, 2024, but unfortunately, she was called home to be with the Lord.

Nene was preceded in death by both of her parents, William Edmonds and Anna Brooks-Edmonds, aunt, Florence and uncle Floyd. Nene leaves to cherish her memory, son, Christopher J. (Camille) Edmonds, sister, Anna (Dennis) Lawson, cousin, Floyd Jackson Jr., who was like a brother to Nene, grandchildren, Cayla Edmonds, Jorden Edmonds, Brandon Benjamin and Ariane Bracey, and a loving fiancé Reverend Charles Jones, who brought her so much joy and he gave her a will to live, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all.
