Richard Edward Van Holt Jr., 35, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania passed away suddenly on July 6, 2024. Richard, who was also known as Richie was born on October 1, 1988. He was the son of Richard Edward Van Holt Sr. and Evelyn Stanton. Richie education was completed by receiving his GED. Richie was smart and could answer any math question that you gave him, and it would literally blow people's mind. He was so funny and high spirited, and his smile would light up any room. He enjoyed the sport of football and was one of the Pittsburgh Steelers favorite fans. Richie worked several jobs, including the restaurant and hotel business, but his favorite job was going door to door encouraging people to vote and to make a difference in the political world. He enjoyed attending church and loved the Lord, and shared scriptures with others. His favorite gospel artist and song was by Fred Hammond, "Blessed".
Richie leaves to cherish his memory, son, Zy'Hier Steele, parents, Richard Edward Van Holt Sr. and Evelyn (Rick) Coles, sisters, Riquita (Jonas) Innocent and Sidasia Stanton, brothers, Donte Stanton, Ernest Howard Jr. and Trevon Stanton, companion, Shayla Curenton-Ellis, nephews, Evan Stanton Jr., Grayson Stanton, Jonas Innocent Jr., Elian Howard and Taj Stanton, nieces, Danijah Coleman, Faith Innocent, True Cain, Gabrielle Stanton and Tahiry Stanton, uncles, Frank (Theresa) Stanton, Raheem Scott and Keith Scott, aunts, Veronica Stanton, Donna Stanton, Gina (Jerry) Stanton-Randolph, Elizabeth Stanton Mayann Scott and Julia (Wayne) Stanton-Jones, uncle, Gaston Stanton, and a host of many family and friends who truly loved him dearly. Richie is preceded in death by, brother, Evan Stanton, grandmothers, Priscella Stanton and Agnes Morrow, grandfathers, Richard Green and Frank Scott, uncle, Steven Stanton.
His silliness and contagious smile will truly be missed.
