Samone Lowanda Morant

Samone Lowanda Morant, 57, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania passed away on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at her residence. Samone was the daughter of the late Sherimina Morant and the late Samuel Williams. Samone graduated from Pittsburgh Public School, Brashear High School in 1985. After graduation she was blessed with her son, Ricco Morant, who she loved dearly. 

After graduation from high school, Samone obtained employment at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Oakland, where she worked in the dietary department. She loved to serve and care for many people and she enjoyed her job. She also gained employment in another department in the UPMC network in the medical billing department and worked there for many years until her passing. Her fellow employees and employers really enjoyed working with her and sharing laughs with her daily. She was there to listen and share advice to her co-workers whenever possible while still completing her job.

In her family life she was a jewel. Samone attended every family event (rather in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania or if she had to travel elsewhere). The joke in the family was: Samone will be here, but late and with her tupperware. Many times when there was a family function, we would have her bring the plates and plasticware so that we could have her be there on-time, but that didn't work. She gave every family member some sort of advice rather it was what you wanted to hear or not. Her tone of voice was always calm, even if it was not positive to what you may have wanted her to say. The hurt that the family is feeling about the lost of our dear family member will take a while for our hearts to heal. 

Samone Lowanda Morant leaves to cherish her lovely memory, her only son, Ricco Morant, grandchildren, Ricciah Samone Montez (her namesake/baby girl), Rianna Morant, Ricco Morant, Keeon Freshley, Josiah Morant, Aiyana Juanea Moore-Morant and Amya Marcella Morant-Moore and one great-grandchild, Noelle Martin, siblings, Caroletha Morant and Leslie Morant, nieces, Sakesha (Micheal), Cynthia (Micheal), Jessica Samone (David), Alexis and Kevana, a multitude of favorite cousins and other family members, employees and friends. Samone is preceded in death by both of her parents, Sherimina Morant and Samuel Williams, aunts, Mary Ann Morant, uncles, Daniel, Jerome and Leroy Morant.
