Virginia “Jenny” Wilson was born on January 16, 1951, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She grew up in Hazelwood, Pennsylvania where she forged many foundational friendships and relationships. She departed this world on Sunday, June 16, 2024.
Known for her quick wit and bold personality. She enjoyed life to the fullest. She loved to sew and was regarded for her keen sense of style, often making her own clothing and decorating her home. She also enjoyed traveling and took to the road on a truck driving expedition to see the U.S. When she wasn’t on the open road, she fed her love of travel by visiting her daughter Shawna in the various states in which she’s resided.
Jenny spent her life surrounded by family from her parents and siblings to her children and host of grands and greats. She enjoyed having her grandchildren and great nieces and nephews over for summers and vacations. Her home was always open, and she made sure the kids had an unforgettable time. Known for her greens and cobblers, her family enjoyed her great cooking and baking. One thing everyone knew about Jenny is that she was a lover of a Cadillac. Her white Cadillac was her pride and joy for many years, and she would pile as many kids as she could fit into the car for trips to the store or the park.
Jenny is survived by her three children, Vincent, Tina and Shawna, nieces, Denise and Sylvia, grandchildren, Demia, Cameron, Johnna, Anwar, Jacinta and Asia, great neices and nephews whom she regarded as grandchildren, Tamara, Lewis, Homer, Keith, DeAndre, Jessica and RayNeil, siblings, Ronald and Anna and many great grandchildren and other extended family.
She is preceded in her departure by both her parents, Lewis and Lillie Mae Jones, son, Lewis Van Dunning III and siblings, Judge, Sylvia, Lillie Pearl and Charles.
Jenny lived a full life. She was a mother, a wife, a daughter, an aunt and a friend to many. Jenny was a beautiful woman with a bold personality. If you knew Jenny, she undoubtably left an impression and you likely have a story to share. No space will be the same without her.
